The Vision and Inventor
As a current and longtime employee of the Adams County Road Department in Nebraska for 24 years, Mr. Douglas Schenk envisioned the need for this new heavy equipment attachment due to rising fuel cost and machinery wear and tear. Mr. Schenk understands the importance of safe driving conditions for the public. Safety is also one of the goals he had in mind when inventing and making the Ridge Cutter.
Douglas began the invention process in 2004 with the idea of improving road maintenance. Soon after seeking legal advice, Mr. Schenk constructed a prototype and acquired a patent for the blade attachment. Mr. Schenk has over 48 years experience in mechanical, electrical and heavy equipment maintenance/repair. Douglas, with the support of his close family and friends, is presently and continuously making educated decisions in improving the reliability of the product through prototype testing.
